Willian says he would like captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to continue plying his trade at Arsenal.
The ex-Shakhtar Donetsk winger joined the Gunners from west London side Chelsea this summer and is keen on helping Mikel Arteta's side win trophies.
Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from the Emirates as he enters the final year of his current contract, with Barcelona and a few sides in Europe set to swoop the Gabon striker.
However, former Brazilian playmaker Willian hopes his the North London club tie down their top striker to a new deal.
The winger told the Sun: “I joined Arsenal because we can challenge for titles but Pierre will be a big part of the plan.
“He has to stay — it is very important to me.
“This is a guy who gets 25-30 goals a season and we have to keep a player like that.
“He’s one of the best players in our team and somebody I want to be making chances for.”
Aubameyang was Arsenal's top scorer across all competitions last season, scoring 29 goals.
