RB Leipzig's sporting director Markus Krosche has confirmed the Bundesliga clubs have not received any inquiry for Liverpool target Timo Werner.
 

 
Reports claim that Werner, who has been heavily linked with several clubs across Europe including Barcelona and Bayern Munich, is ready to join Premier League leaders Liverpool, but the Anfield club will have to secure a deal for the 24-year-old before the release clause of £52m in his contract expires.
 

 
The German striker Werner has been superb this season scoring 21 goals in 25 Bundesliga games before the season was suspended amid the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Krosche says there has been no contact for Leipzig's Werner yet.
 

 
"There have been no inquiries, and Timo didn't contact us either," he told reporters on Friday.


 
"These rumours have been around for weeks. As of now, there is nothing new."
 

 
Krosche is convinced the COVID-19 crisis will have an influence on the next transfer window.
 

 
"It will be a different transfer market," Krosche said. "It will depend on whether leagues and the European competitions can be played to the end, because that means a lot of income."
