Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has asked his teammate Asmir Begovic to either sign a new contract or leave the Premier League club this summer.
The sought after Bosnia international, who has been an excellent shot-stopper, spent the last five and a half years at the Britannia Stadium and, former Liverpool man Adam has alerted Begovic that the Potters would rather sell him than let him run down his contract.
“I think he [Asmir Begovic] could stay but it’s his decision on the situation,” he told talkSPORT.
“He has a year to go at the club.

"The club aren’t going to be stupid and they aren’t going to let his contract run down. That’s not going to happen, definitely not, because they have a value there.
“It’s a hard decision for both parties. He obviously wants to play at the highest level in the Champions League but we want to keep him.”
He added: “We’ve got a top goalkeeper behind him in Jack Butland, who is going to the European Championship with England’s Under-21s.
"Potentially he could be one of the best in the Premier League in a number of years.”
