The Eagles completed the signing of midfielder France international Yohan Cabaye on Friday and Crystal Palace's co-chairman Steve Parish says Alan Pardew was key to Cabaye's deal.

“I think Yohan has bought into what we’re trying to do at the club, he loves the Premier League and also, last but very much not least, he’s got a fantastic relationship with Alan," Parish told Sky Sports News HQ.

"Make no mistake if we didn’t have Alan at the helm then I’m sure Yohan wouldn’t have seen Crystal Palace as a club to come to.

"Alan is very much at the heart of this signing but I think it’s important that Yohan buys into everything to do with the club and he seems to have done that."

Cabaye scored a total of 18 goals in 93 appearances for Newcastle, under Pardew's management before he moved to the Ligue 1 champions PSG back in January 2014.
