Alonso set for new Chelsea deal.

Blues full-back set to sign new long-term contract.

Marcos Alonso has revealed he is close to signing a new contract extension at Chelsea.

The Spaniard, who is under contract with the Blues up until 2021, is delighted to be plying his trade at Stamford Bridge.

The left-back told Spanish newspaper AS: "I am very calm and very happy at Chelsea, and the club must also be happy with me because, although I still have two years left on my contract, they have offered me an extension.

"We are talking about it and the talks to renew are already advanced. If everything goes well, I think I will renew before the end of this month - in the coming days."

The 27-year-old has scored 15 goals in 91 games since arriving at Stamford Bridge back in 2016.
