The Red Devils have confirmed that Ander Herrera suffered a fractured rib during the club’s nervy 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.
Herrera was forced off the pitch after 74 minutes at Old Trafford and Manchester United have revealed that the midfielder's injury will be monitored over the coming weeks.
Herrera`s injury is another setback to United manager Louis van Gaal, who`s also without Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick in midfield.
Herrera has been great so far in midfield for United with his work rate, passing ability and eye for goal. He joined Manchester United in the summer from Athletic Bilbao and has scored two goals with an assist in four appearances.
