Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger hails Danny Welbeck after the striker scored a hat-trick to give the Gunners a win over Galatasaray.
The England international, who Joined the north-London club from Manchester United on the transfer deadline day, showed why he wants to play up-front as he netted two goals before Alexis Sánchez made it 3-0 at half-time.
In the second half, the 23-year-old netted his third goal of the night in the 52nd minute before Galatasaray`s Burak Yilmaz scored a penalty following Wojciech Szczesny’s red card in the 60th minute.
Wenger was delighted with Welbeck`s performance and said: “He had a great performance.
“I think he added that instinct of a goal-scorer, was more aggressive, made great runs and finished well.
“I think he has such good pace that it gives him time to finish in a calm way. Once a player understands that, their finishing improves a lot.”
Wenger also said: “Overall the team played well. When we were down to 10 men it showed how quickly you can lose control of the game. But the overall performance was still great.”
The Gunners travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday and the Arsenal faithful will hope Welbeck can continue his goalscoring form against Chelsea on Sunday.
