Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been thrilled with the way his Gunners registered their fifth consecutive win in all competitions on Boxing Day.

Arsenal beat relegation battlers Norwich City 5-0 at Carrow Road yesterday, thanks to strikes from Kieran Tierney, Alexandre Lacazette, Emile Smith Rowe as well as a Bukayo Saka brace.

The win means Arteta's side, who play table-toppers Manchester City on New Year's Day, are now fourth in the Premier League table while Norwich remain bottom. However, speaking to BBC’s MOTD after the win over Dean Smith’s team, Arteta said: "It's a very satisfying result because in this festive period we have to keep performances to a high level. "We looked really sharp and committed. It's a big win for us. I am really pleased. The amount of chances we create is pleasing. "We go to every ground to try and impose our game. Today was a really good example. The unity we have around the club and with our fans is very pleasing. When quizzed about Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not playing, the Spaniard replied: "He wasn't selected for today's match. We'll take it game by game. That was the decision."

On Martin Odegaard’s superb performance, he replied: "I think he is playing fantastically well. He helps us a lot, he glides the team together and I am really pleased with him," the boss told Arsenal Media.

"It was very good [today]. A really traditional day in this country and to play football in this atmosphere, it was great.

"I think we performed and played really good, we were really consistent and a real threat throughout the game and I am really pleased with the way we attacked and defended.

"There's no time to recover [ahead of the Wolves game] but we will do our best to keep the spirit, the mindset and physically the team in the best possible condition to play in front of our crowd, which we will need a lot from to give us energy in the game and try to win the game."

Midfield marshal Thomas Partey has revealed how much he is enjoying being a part of the current Arsenal team and he also had some nice words for the club’s young players such as Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard. "It is very enjoyable, I enjoy a lot playing with them," he told Arsenal Media as Arsenal.com quoted. "They are good talents, a lot of people around that can play with them and they have a lot of quality in front of goal and they can score at any time, so it is a joyful moment playing with them. "We feel very happy. This is a game we really enjoyed. We have had a couple of games now where the team is doing very well and performing and I think this is what we have to keep doing. "I think we are working harder, we are doing what we have to do, everyone is playing their role very well and that is the mentality that the coach wants us to play with and enjoy on the field and that is what we are doing."
