Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud says a second-place finish would be a great achievement for the Gunners as they build towards a Premier League title charge for 2015-16.
Arsene Wenger’s side have been brilliant in recent months and head into Sunday’s clash with Chelsea looking to secure their ninth league win on the bounce and sit in second place in the Premier League table.
A top-four spot has been sealed already by the north London side as they look to finish the campaign on a high and with right additions in the summer, a title bid will be within reach for Arsenal.
Giroud also reckons if they finish second, it shows they’ve progressed from the 20-13/14 season in-which they finished fourth.
“We’ve played fantastic football over the last few months and we’ve won our last eight games in the Premier League," Giroud told Sky Sports.
“We want to carry on. I think second will be a good position even if we have a tiny hope to finish first. It’s been a few years since we’ve finished in the top three so it will be a great achievement if we can reach this target.”
