Arsene Wenger got his tactics absolutely spot on says former Chelsea midfielder Pat Nevin.
Arsenal secured a unique win over Premier League defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad stadium, thanks to goals by man-of-the-match Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud.
However, Chelsea legend Nevin praised the north London side for their approach and all round display in the triumph at Manchester.
“Arsenal had such a positive attitude – the way they have played speaks volumes about the manager,” the Northern Irishman told BBC Sport.
“People were having a real dig at Arsene Wenger before today, and you do understand that as they have been a distance away, but today he got it absolutely right.
“Every single Arsenal player worked their socks off and it has won them the game.”
Nevin was also delighted with Francis Coquelin’s performance in the Gunners’ midfield.
“Francis Coquelin, he was shouting as loud as anybody and getting everybody going, his attitude has been superb.”
