WENGER: ‘WE WILL NOT SELL’
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has declared the Gunners don't need to sell players anymore and also said they can compete with the elite clubs in Europe financially.
The chunk of players have left the Emirates over the years, which I for one reckon it was a major factor contributing to Arsenal's nine-year trophyless period.
With the likes of Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor and Gael Clichy leaving the north London side, Wenger maintained securing a top-four spot, and has won the FA Cup back-to-back in the last two campaigns.
However, the Emirates boss says they are set to compete with the best.
He said: "The time where we had to sell our best players is over for sure.
"We had five or six years where we were financially restricted, we had to balance the books and we had to pay the stadium back. This time has gone.”
