Arsenal travel to Liverpool to take on Jurgen Klopp's Reds in the Premier League on Monday evening.

Mikel Arteta insists Nicolas Pepe is still part of his plans at Arsenal and has been pleased with the improvement the Ivory Coast international has made.

The Gunners record signing had a brilliant display in their Carabao Cup win against Leicester City last week and Arteta who took over the reins at the Emirates in December believes Pepe will become an Arsenal great.

The Ivorian winger didn't start either of Arsenal's opening two Premier League matches, coming off the bench in both games.

"I think he's come a long way," Arteta said of the 25-year-old as Arsenal.com reported. "We know what the club paid for him when he joined and that was obviously an extra pressure but he's a player who's had to adapt, it's a different style.

"He has a really good attitude. We can see development in a lot of phases of his game.

"He's very settled here, he's liked by the boys, he's a really good character to have around and I'm really positive that we're going to have him for many years and that he can perform at a really high level consistently."
