Bacca: PSG wanted me.

AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has revealed Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain were interested in securing his services this summer, but a lack of places for non-EU players saw the deal collapse.

The Colombian striker, who was linked with various sides across Europe this summer, was close to reuniting with his former boss Unai Emery at the Parc des Princes.

“It’s true, PSG did contact my agent, but the matter did not progress because there were no more slots for non-EU players,” Bacca told Cadena Ser.

“I congratulate Paris Saint-Germain for choosing Emery. He was the most important Coach in my career and the best I’ve worked with too.

“He improved my performances, I felt at ease with him and he put a lot of confidence in me. There is also a strong friendship and perhaps that is the most important thing. I will always be grateful to him.

“In future I’d like to work with Emery again, but for now I am focused only on Milan.”
