Nabil Bentaleb was on his first Tottenham Hotspur tour and the young midfield marshal was amazed by the welcome and support the Lilywhites received in Malaysia and Australia.
Bentaleb missed Spurs' last summer visit to the USA as he was busy with Algeria in the World Cup. The 21-year-old who broke into the club's first team back in December 2013 was in awe when he saw the fan base Tottenham have on the other side of the globe.
“That was an unbelievable crowd,” said Nabil after the win in Australia, as the club's official website reported.
“We had such a great welcome in Malaysia and then Australia and the people have been so good to us. The chance to play in front of over 70,000 fans was extra motivation for us. We wanted to put on a show for them.
“We know how big the club is but it really hits home when you go to the other end of the world and you see there are so many people supporting us. It really opens your eyes, to be honest.”
