Karim Benzema has suffered the same injury as Luka Modric: a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee. The Frenchman went to the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja for tests by the Real Madrid medical staff and they will carefully watch over his recovery.
However, the degree of the injury is not yet known and estimations over how long he will be out must be met with caution. The Croatian will be in the treatment room for around six weeks but Benzema’s time on the sidelines could be less, more or the same.
As with the previous two training sessions, the Madrid striker did not train with the rest of the group today and is definitely out of tomorrow’s Champions League quarter-final second leg clash against Atlético Madrid.
