Cabaye: We stayed strong and solid.

Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye praised his side's 1-0 win against Ronald Koeman's Saints at Selhurst Park. The Frenchman finished off Yannick Bolasie's assist just before half-time when they faced Southampton on Saturday to secure three points for the south London club. "It was a difficult game but we did the job and we stayed in good shape to stay resolute and get the win," he said, as cpfc.co.uk quoted. "Southampton have good quality in their team and at the end Wayne had to make some important saves. It’s always difficult when you’re just one nil up, but we stayed strong and solid and at the end we won which is the most important thing.”

He continued: “Even with the wind, I think we played good football today. When my chance came I just tried to get in to the box and direct it on goal and luckily it went in.” Cabaye also hailed the Eagles' decision making during the clash, adding the team effort was vital in the win. “We had to make the effort and make the right choices at the right time as a team, because if one of us let our performance drop it would make it very difficult. We stayed altogether and that’s why we stayed strong.”
