Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insists that forward Eden Hazard needs to have faith if he is keen on securing a regular spot in the starting XI.

The Belgium international, who signed from Premier League club Chelsea in June 2019 for 120 million euros, has failed to seal a spot in Los Blancos' starting eleven due to injuries and lack of form.

He was only able to score four goals in 21 appearances in all competitions in the 2020-21 campaign and has fallen down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Brazilian youngsters Vinicius Jr [21] and Rodrygo [20] selected ahead of the ex-Lille star.

However, speaking ahead of Madrid's Champions League Group D match against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday evening, the Italian said told a news conference on Tuesday: "Those who don't play need to have faith. Look at Mariano, how he finally got his chance and is enjoying himself, playing well.

"That's what Hazard needs to do.
