Jamie Carragher blasted Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi following their defeat to Manchester City.

The Gunners defence was all over the place as they were thrashed 3-1 at the Etihad, with Sergio Aguero scoring a hat-trick on Sunday.

City looked like a side that planned to mount pressure on Mustafi and Stephan Lichtsteiner - as the German was caught out for Aguero's opening goal that was registered within 46 seconds.

However, Liverpool great, now Sky Sports pundit reckons Mustafi and Lichtsteiner are not good enough for the Gunners.

"Lichtsteiner is not good enough. Maybe you could argue because of his age," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"But the fellow next to him, Mustafi, has never been good enough since the day he walked in the door and that’s the reason why all the goals come down there.

"To see Arsenal defend like that, there’s a big job there for Unai Emery to do."

The former Reds defender's views were agreed by fellow pundit Alex Scott.

"He's all over the place. He doesn't know when to go and close down his player," she added.

"He's leaving...a bit half-a***d and that's why between him and (Alex) Iwobi, they're getting popped around down this side.”
