Jamie Carragher has criticised Adam Lallana for doing too much skill during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The former Southampton midfielder put in an impressive performance against the Hammers as he made his third start of the campaign at the London Stadium on Monday night.

Lallana was a bright spark for Jurgen Klopp's Reds as his trickery helped the Reds in the build-up to Sadio Mane's opener. However, Liverpool great now Sky Sports pundit Carragher was clearly disappointed with his former side's display and said the England international 'did more Cruyff turns than Johan Cruyff had done in his whole career'.

"In the first 20 minutes he (Lallana) did more Cruyff turns than Johan Cruyff had done in his whole career," Carragher said on Sky Sports.

The Reds sealed a point as the gap extended to just three points ahead of Manchester City - who are looking to seal a win over Everton tonight to go top of the Premier League table. And, former Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince says Klopp's side must return to winning ways when they play Bournemouth on Saturday to prevent slipping down the league table.

He told Paddy Power: “Liverpool also need to be wary of Tottenham. At the minute, they’re playing their football knowing that the eyes are nearly all on the top two. In fact, they’re only two points behind City now and should be taken more seriously as a threat.”
