Real Madrid midfielder Henrique Casemiro has lauded his teammate Gareth Bale following the Welshman's impact in their opening LaLiga Santander 2019/20 match.

Zinedine Zidane's side secured a 3-1 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday with Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Lucas Vazquez hitting the target at the Municipal de Balaidos.

Iker Losada scored a late consolation goal for the homeside and following the victory for Los Blancos, Casemiro spoke of how instrumental Bale has been to the club.

"He [Bale] has given us titles, he's scored in finals and he has a lot of respect from us all," Casemiro said as Marca published.

"He has to play. He's a great player and is very important for us."

Real now lead Barcelona by three points after the Blaugrana were beaten by Athletic Bilbao on Friday night. However, Casemirois says it really doesn't matter at this point.

"The Barcelona defeat doesn't change anything," the midfielder said.

"We are thinking about our football and about our matches."
