Chelsea crumble at Newcastle.

Newcastle secured a convincing win over Chelsea with second-half goals from Lascelles, Joelinton, and Gordon. Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United orchestrated a spectacular second-half display to secure a resounding victory over Chelsea at St James' Park, marking a triumphant return to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Magpies' resurgence was ignited by fit-again Alexander Isak's clinical finish in an entertaining first half. However, Raheem Sterling's delightful free-kick for Chelsea levelled the score, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

Captain and defender Jamaal Lascelles elevated Newcastle with a free header from Anthony Gordon's precise cross, giving them a 2-1 lead on the hour mark. The momentum continued as Joelinton capitalised on Thiago Silva’s error, doubling the hosts' advantage just 90 seconds later.

Eventually, Gordon sealed the comprehensive victory with his fifth goal of the season, capping off a remarkable performance by Newcastle. Chelsea's hopes further diminished as right-back Reece James received a second yellow card, reducing them to 10 men. This convincing win, Newcastle's fifth consecutive home league triumph, propels them within three points of fourth-placed Tottenham, who host Aston Villa tomorrow. Meanwhile, Chelsea find themselves lingering just inside the top half after succumbing to Newcastle's second-half brilliance.
