Ex-Everton midfielder Barkley expressed his delight at fulfilling "a dream" to score against Liverpool.
Ross Barkley described Chelsea's win against Liverpool in the FA Cup as a 'massive result'.
The west London club secured a 2-0 home-win over the Premier League leaders at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night to book a spot in the quarter-finals of football's oldest competition.
The Reds goalkeeper Adrian made a howler at Stamford Bridge to allow Willian give the west London club the lead in the 13th minute before Ross Barkley wrapped up the win with a wonder-strike in the 64th minute as Jurgen Klopp's Reds got knocked out of football's oldest competition.
While speaking to BBC One after the match, Barkley - the ex-Everton midfielder - expressed his delight at fulfilling "a dream" to score against Liverpool.
"It was brilliant, a massive result for the lads. We needed a top performance tonight at home after two disappointing results," the Chelsea goalscorer said.
"Scoring against Liverpool is massive for me. As an Everton fan, it's always a dream to score against them.
When quizzed on Man of the Match Billy Gilmour, Barkley responded: "Billy was brilliant. But it was not a surprise to me. I've seen him in training and he was like that in training last season."
