Former Chelsea shot-stopper Neil Etheridge wonders if the Premier League champions are lacking leaders following their slow start to the 2015/16 season.
The Walsall goalkeeper spent four years at the west London club and speaking ahead of their Capital One Cup clash against Jose Mourinho's side, he said the Blues need a more experience.
“I look at that team and it's a fantastic bunch of players but I don't know how many leaders they have got," he said as SkySports.com quoted.
"The thing which is going on with John Terry no one really knows the answer to. No one knows the true story. He is a massive leader in the team.
"They lost Frank, who is another massive leader. Working closely with Mark Schwarzer last year he named a few of the leaders who spoke to the gaffer and they seem to have all left this year.
"Maybe that's where they missing on the field, they want someone to take control.
"It's hard, at that level you need a couple - if not three or four leaders - to pull that team through."
