Aside from Rafa Benítez's transfer requests, Real Madrid's squad for next season is starting to take shape.
The powers that be have put together the bare bones of a squad that includes two players who had looked to be on their way out of the club: Fabio Coentrao and Asier Illarramendi.
The Portuguese - unless Benítez wants him out - is staying on for another season, as the club cannot find a suitable left-back replacement.
Coentrao looked to be heading to Old Trafford a few months ago, but the move did not interest him as much as staying at Real Madrid. However, it is Benítez who will have the last word.
Illarramendi is very excited about Ancelotti's departure - having not really featured in the Italian's plans - and the arrival of a new coach.
Real Madrid assume that Benítez will want to keep Illarra and have turned down a €15m offer from Real Sociedad for the midfielder.
Illarra is one of the players who did not say goodbye to Ancelotti on social networks.
However, he is excited at Benítez's arrival.
