Antonio Conte has backed Diego Costa after the Chelsea striker's goalless run extended to four matches on Saturday. The Premier League table toppers beat Bournemouth 3-1 at Dean Court, as Adam Smith's own goal, strikes from Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso helped Chelsea restore their seven-point lead. However, after the win, Conte highlighted how important Costa, who has 17 league goals to his name this season, is to the Blues. "I think that the first goal, Diego provoked it and he played a good game and fought a lot for the team with good commitment," Conte told BT Sport. "He fought a lot for the team and he is important - it is important for the team that we won against a strong team. Now it is important to rest and restart and prepare for the game against Manchester United."
