New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte expressed his delight at the signing of N'Golo Kante from Leicester City.
The midfield ace Kante opted to join west London side Chelsea after winning the Premier League with Claudio Ranieri's Foxes.
The Frenchman was bought for £30m and the Italian couldn't hide his joy at the news after their 2-0 defeat to Rapid Vienna in Conte's pre-season debut.
"I want to say that Kante was a target, and for this reason I am very happy that the club have bought this player," said Conte as the Daily Mirror reported.
"He (Kante) is a good player with great technique and stamina," he added. "If you want to win, you need this type of player.
"Me and the club identified this player. I think that Kante can give a lot to Chelsea. He's very important to us."
