Coquelin has praised Arsenal’s January signing Mohamed Elneny.

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has hailed Mohamed Elneny, who joined the Gunners in January, by saying the Egyptian has been a “great addition” to the side.

Elneny sealed a move from Basel to the Emirates in the winter transfer window and has been impressive for Arsene Wenger's side, scoring his first goal at the Camp Nou against Barcelona in the Champions League last-16 second leg.

"He’s settled really quickly, because don’t forget he’s only been here for two months," Coquelin told the Evening Standard. “I thought he was fantastic in the game against Barcelona, and against Everton as well.

"It’s going well, he’s a great addition to the squad. We are getting stronger each game, and if it can carry on this way it will be a good partnership.

"To be honest though, we have got lots of quality players in the middle, so any players that play in there can perform."
