Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has brushed aside suggestions that Lionel Messi wanted to provoke Celta Vigo with his penalty combination with Luis Suarez over the weekend. Cruyff says critics are wrong to think Messi's penalty in Barca's 6-1 win over Celta was provocative. Instead of shooting directly from the spot, Messi rolled the ball slightly for Suarez to finish off at the Camp Nou. However, Cruyff said the Argentine's penalty was entertaining.
"Football is for fun and Messi gives fun to all," the ex-Barca coach said. "I was very happy [with the penalty]. I share ideas with players who dare to do this kind of thing."
