David Moyes praises Januzaj and believes he will develop to become a top player.

David Moyes is convinced that Adnan Januzaj has the potential to emulate Wayne Rooney.

The 19-year-old was handed his Manchester United debut by Moyes last season, before United stumbled out of the top four finishing seventh in the Premier League table.

And the former Red Devils manager believes the young Belgian attacker has the characteristics to follow steps the United captain Rooney took when he was younger.

“Adnan Januzaj is, in my managerial time, the best young talent up there with Wayne Rooney,” The 51-year-old Scot told the Daily Telegraph.

“You can see what he can become. When we had Wayne at Everton you could see the potential.

“Adnan Januzaj has got all that at the same age as Wayne. He’s one of the best young talents in Europe and he will go on to become one of the best players.”

David Moyes was relieved of his duties back in April but has been favourite to manage a few clubs in the UK and in Europe.
