Ajax and Netherlands star Matthijs de Ligt has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo asked him if he would be plying his trade at Juventus next season.
The defender, who is expected to seal a move from Dutch club Ajax this summer, is heavily linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Manchester United.
And, after Portugal beat the Netherlands 1-0 in the Nations League final on Sunday, De Ligt said Ronaldo questioned if he would be his team-mate at Juve.
The Ajax captain told NOS: "That could be true, yes. I didn't understand him at first. I was a little shocked, so I laughed, but I didn't say anything.
"Shortly after the game you are not at all concerned with it, you are disappointed you have lost and that is the only thing you are thinking about."
De Ligt added: "I will first go on a nice vacation and rest. I will let it happen and then I will see."
Barca and PSG are believed to be frontrunners, and widespread reports suggest the latter are prepared to offer the 19-year-old a staggering £13m-a-season.
