PSG defender Thiago Silva has heaped praise on Angel di Maria as he believes the former Real Madrid winger has helped Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain make some ‘huge steps forward’ this season.
Di Maria, who was labelled a flop at Manchester United, joined the French side last summer after a disappointing campaign at Old Trafford.
“We've taken huge steps forward this season, we hold the ball better and have improved both technically and tactically. Much of this is thanks to Di Maria's transfer,” says Silva.
“He is strong in one-on-one situations, provokes the opposition and destablilises them. He's also a goal threat.”
Laurent Blanc's side play Man City tonight at the Etihad in the first-leg of the Champions League quarter final.
