Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney admits Angel di Maria will come good for the Reds.
The former Los Blancos winger Di Maria made a colourful start to the campaign after securing his move from the Bernabeu to Old Trafford.
The Argentine has scored arguably one of the best goals this season in their 5-3 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power stadium.
Recently the 27-year-old hasn’t been performing and one of his lowest point of his career as a Red was on Saturday when he was subbed at half-time in United's 2-0 win over Sunderland. It was a disappointing first-half display for the former Real Madrid man.
However, England Captain Rooney has backed the United no.7 to put his current poor form behind him and become a successful key player at Manchester United.
"It was one of those days that every footballer has," Rooney said when asked about Di Maria's performance against the Black Cats.
"He's a great player. You don't lose your talent overnight. Hopefully he'll get back to his best and start giving some great performances.
"I think he will figure it out, we all have to do that sometimes. You have to come to it in your own way and I am sure he will be a big player for us between now and the end of the season."
