Eriksen: "I think everyone can see that I can fulfil my ambitions here."

Tottenham midfield maestro Christian Eriksen is close to signing a new deal with the north London club and has also described talks over a new long-term deal as "positive".

The Denmark international, who scored the winning goal against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday, has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal and is keen to stay longer at White Hart Lane.

"We're still talking about the contract. It's all positive. I think everyone can see that I can fulfil my ambitions here," he said, as reported.

"We're still not there, we're still far from winning the league. There are a lot of games to go. We need to be really sharp and continue what we're doing. We have a lot of good players, even on the bench. The players we brought on are top, top quality and the ones who are not playing are still doing a really good job.

"We always believe in scoring goals. We are relaxed. We know when we need to go forward and when we need to stay calm."
