Sean Dyche is set to shuffle his side when they host Tottenham Hotspur in An all Premier League affair in the FA Cup third round on Monday.
Burnley continue to lack in the goal department but have shown character to earn two consecutive draws, a 2-2 draw with Manchester City and then a 3-3 draw with Newcastle on New Year’s Day. Dyche named the same XI for five consecutive games over the festive period and is expected to make changes for this tie.
Tottenham go into this fixture on the back of their best result in Mauricio Pochettino’s reign so far, striker Harry Kane inspired a 5-3 victory over table leaders Chelsea scoring two and supplying two more. Tottenham have had a rich vein of form at the moment sitting fifth in the league and are unbeaten in six which included a 2-1 victory over Burnley last month.
Dyche is without Captain Jason Shackell who was forced into an early exit in the 3-3 draw with Newcastle on New Year’s Day with a calf problem and then his replacement Kevin Long went off with what looked like a serious knee injury. Michael Duff is also missing after being out for a month with a calf injury, Dyche will have to check the ability of defender Michael Keane as well as Dean Marney who was forced off at Newcastle with illness. Long-term absentee Sam Vokes will be pushing for a place as well as; Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marvin Sordell, Ross Wallace and Matt Gilks.
Ryan Mason is not expected to feature for Spurs after picking a hamstring injury in the 5-3 victory over Chelsea, Erik Lamela is likely not be risked for this tie after a minor calf complaint kept him out of the game on New Year’s Day. In-form striker Harry Kane is likely to be rested in favour of Roberto Soldado while; Mousa Dembele, Paulinho and Benjamin Stambouli could all feature against the clarets.
