Fabregas hails Arteta's maturing Arsenal.

Fabregas is excited by the 2022-23 Premier League campaign featuring a mature Arsenal side.

Cesc Fabregas has heaped praise on Mikel Arteta, saying his compatriot is doing a good job at the Emirates.

The Gunners have had a busy transfer window, signing Gabriel Jesus, Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

However, former Spain midfield maestro Fabregas believes the current Arsenal squad 'are now mature' and is looking forward to what they can do in the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

Fabregas - Mikel [Arteta] is doing a good job.

“I think Mikel [Arteta] is doing a good job," Fabregas told Sky Sports News when asked for his assessment of the transfer activity at the Emirates Stadium. "I think Edu is doing a fantastic job. When we talk about football people, Edu is a football man.

“He has the patience and knows exactly what it takes to build a project. You cannot do it in one day; sometimes the market doesn’t allow you to get the right players, and sometimes you are too young to compete, as it happened at Arsenal for one or two years.

“But I think Arsenal are now mature, the young players are not so young anymore. I see a different phase; they have signed very well, they strengthened the team in certain areas they are struggling, and I am really looking to the season because it’s exciting.”

The English top flight starts on Friday, August 5, with the Gunners travelling to Selhurst Park to play Patrick Viera's Crystal Palace.

As for Fabregas, the 35-year-old completed a free transfer to Serie B side Como, signing a two-year contract after his deal at Ligue 1 club Monaco expired.
