Since Eden Hazard joined Real Madrid, he doesn't look like the player he once was at Chelsea, says central midfielder Cesc Fàbregas. Hazard's former Chelsea team-mate Fabregas says the Belgian 'looked a little self-conscious' with Los Blancos but predicts a great future for the 29-year-old at the Santiago Bernabeu. Forward Hazard joined Real from the west London club Chelsea for €100million in June 2019, but has struggled to make a major impact, starting only nine league matches before the 2019-20 season came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Belgium star's career under Zinedine Zidane has been plagued by fitness and injury problems, and he recently fractured his ankle which made matters worse.

However, he went under the knife in March after fracturing his ankle in February, having only just returned weeks earlier following three months on the sidelines. "He's played several good games for Madrid, but it's true that sometimes he's looked a little self-conscious," Monaco midfield ace Fabregas told RTVE.

On reports linking Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe with a move to Madrid, Fabregas says the France forward would flourish in the Spanish capital.

"He's a very hungry boy who wants to be the best. Because of the way he plays, he'd fit in very well at Real Madrid," the ex-Arsenal midfielder said.
