The Champions League places are back in sight for Jose Mourinho's Red Devils after they sealed a 3-1 win over Boro on Sunday afternoon.
Marouane Fellani and Jesse Lingard scored the first-two goals of the match that took place in the north east of England before Rudy Gestede responded for the homeside with a close range strike late on.
However, Mourinho's men maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League as Antonio Valencia wrapped up the win for Manchester United after Victor Valdes's hilarious slip-up.
"I’m very pleased to get the win," Fellaini said as manutd.com quoted. "Now it is time for some of our players to get a well-earned rest after some tough games. We have a big squad with quality. We have to prove to the manager that we earn our place and today I think our players showed that."

And Jesse Lingard said: "With me, Marcus and Antonio up top we had a lot of pace. The more ball-playing players behind us, in Marouane and Carrick, dictated the play and it turned out to be a good game for us."
On his goal, he added: "I was looking for the pass but there wasn’t any option so I thought I’d hit it and luckily it went in."
