Fernandinho says Manchester City's preparations for the clash against Chelsea "has been going good" and they are ready to take on Antonio Conte's Blues on Saturday.
The Citizens have had a week to get ready for the match against the Premier League table-toppers at the Etihad, and the midfield ace is convinced the preparation time they've had could be crucial to having a good result on the day.
“We’ve been working hard all week for this game and we are looking forward to it,” said Ferna as mancity.com reported. “Chelsea are the leaders at the moment but we are aiming to be in the best condition possible for this game.
“We are at the beginning of a very intense period in the Premier League with so many games in and around the Christmas period so the fact we’ve had all week to prepare is really good and our aim is to take three points from this game.
“December is a time that can determine whether or not you’re going to be in the title race or not as you can gain or lose ground very quickly so if you can rotate the squad and keep the players as fresh as possible it’s obviously much better.
“Chelsea are a good side and they have shown that this season, but so are we. Both sides have great players and a great manager and it’s all about who is raises their levels the highest on Saturday and we intend that to be us.”
Pep Guardiol's side are hoping to end a run of three successive home Premier League draws.
