Ferran Torres has been playing temporarily as a centre forward in the absence of Argentine star Aguero and Brazil striker Jesus - who returned to action on Tuesday night.
Manchester City forward Ferran Torres admits he is delighted to have filled in the void left by Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
The 20-year-old, who usually plays on the flanks, was part of the side that played in City’s 3-0 Champions League win over Greek side Olympiakos on Tuesday evening.
The Spaniard continued his fine form by scoring the opening goal 12 minutes into the clash before substitute Gabriel Jesus and Joao Cancelo wrapped up the win late in the second half at the Etihad Stadium.
Ferran has now scored three goals in three Champions League games for City as Pep Guardiola’s men maintained their 100% start in Europe’s elite competition this term.
He said as Mancity.com quoted: “We know the position is for (Sergio) Aguero and (Gabriel) Jesus, (but) the manager tried me in that position as a striker.
“I’m very happy and comfortable to play there for the team.
“I’m very happy to score again in the Champions League but even more for the win, and hopefully I can keep scoring and winning.”
City boss Guardiola told BT Sport of the Cityzens performance against the Greek club: "In the first half we played really well. In the second half we struggled for some moments but when we scored the second one it was over.
"We've had a good three games, nine points. We need three more points or one more point to qualify. We have five days to recover for Liverpool and then the international break.
"They had one or two chances [to equalise]. When we controlled in the way we control, we cannot finish games - we struggle with the second goal - but finally with an incredible goal from Gabriel Jesus and then from Joao Cancelo we win the game.
"John Stones is back, an incredible performance - almost perfect. It's not easy when you're a long time without playing.
"The forecast in the next three days says it will be sunny in Manchester. It's rare. We're going to have tomorrow off. After that on Friday and Saturday we'll prepare for the Liverpool game. But the players need a break."
