Tottenham goal keeper Hugo Lloris said it was a disappointing day at Wembley as they were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea, but the French international decided to take the positives from the League Cup final.

The Lilywhites were beaten by Jose Mourinho’s team after goals from John Terry in the 45th minute, just before half-time and Diego Costa in the 56th hit the back of the net.

Pochettino’s men weren’t able to break down the Chelsea defence and after the tie Lloris spoke of their experience in the Capital One Cup final.

"We are disappointed, that’s normal after losing a final,” he said.

"But I think we can be proud because we played our football and showed a lot of character. After that, we missed a bit of luck, they scored two deflected goals but that’s part of football. It can make us better and stronger for the future.

"It was frustrating but we can’t have regrets after a game like this. We played our football and we had a lot of young players who had their first final experience and we can build on this game.

"In football, you cannot buy experience, you have to play that kind of game to grow. It was a positive experience. I hope we will have success in the future."
