Fiorentina will be confident that they can get an advantage over a distracted Tottenham Hotspur to progress to the last 16 of Europa League when they welcome the London side to the Stadio Artemio Franchi for the second leg of the Europa League clash on Thursday.
Fiorentina have been one of the best performing sides in the competition this season just losing the one match out of six which saw them finish top of group K. Their recent form has also been fantastic with Vincenzo Montella’s sides been undefeated in the past 10 games.
Tottenham will be desperate to get an away goal early in this tie and it could prove likely if they can start like they did in the 1-1 draw the previous week. However, Mauricio Pochettino will no doubt have one eye on the Capital One Cup with London rivals Chelsea on Sunday and the one thing he will not want is extra-time ahead of that game under the Wembley arch.
Fiorentina will be without Giuseppe Rossi and Federico Bernardeschi through injury while goalkeeper Vincenzo Montella could make a surprise return after he was dropped after refusing to sign a new contract after current keeper Ciprian Tatarusanu is a doubt with injury. Borja Valero is also a major doubt for this match as he is yet to recover from an injury that he picked up from the first leg.
There is no injury concerns for Pochettino ahead of this trip to Florence but it will be interesting to see how the Argentine will set up his squad ahead of that game on Sunday. Fringe players the likes of; Paulinho, Ben Davies and Federico Fazio should all be in the starting line-up but there will big calls to make on key players such as Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen.
