West Ham are preparing a bid for Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher and are likely to face competition from Spanish side Valencia.
The Scotland international has made only 16 appearances for the Old Trafford club this season and could be expected to move on for as little as £1.5 million to gain some much needed playing time with his contract expiring in the summer.
Sam Allardyce, who is a big fan of Fletcher, wants to bring in the 30 year old to add some experience to his squad as they aim for a top four spot. Celtic were also rumoured to have shown an interest in Fletcher and West Brom’s initial inquiry to sign him on loan for the remainder of the season was knocked back last week.
Fletcher, who has made 340 appearances for United, winning the Champions League, the Premier League on five occasions, as well as 66 Scotland caps, is expected to make his decision over the next fortnight and it would be interesting to see which club does he decide to move on to, that is if he decides to leave the Old Trafford club.
