Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has expressed his delight at Chelsea's 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The win gives the Blues 10 points, and puts them on top of Group G with a superior goal difference over second placed FC Porto.
‘We knew what we had to do coming in to this game,’ the England defender said, chelseafc.com reports.
‘We knew we had to get a result to take it into the last game at Stamford Bridge and we've done that. It’s going to be an important game for us. We can’t be worried about what’s going on elsewhere.
‘We need to build confidence, we need to build momentum, and we need to get a run of wins together, so it was important for a number of reasons. I was pleased not just with the result but the performance as well. We played some good football on a difficult pitch and I thought we dominated from start to finish.’
The win makes it two wins in two games for Chelsea who defeated Norwich City by a goal to nothing over the weekend.
