Steven Gerrard believes Liverpool is the perfect club for Raheem Sterling.
Former England and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is convinced Raheem Sterling can become an Anfield legend like Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres, if he stays at Liverpool.
The 20-year-old England international, Sterling, has been tipped to leave Anfield with Manchester City monitoring the youngster who still hasn’t signed an extension to his current contract.
And, Gerrard who is set to play for MLS side LA Galaxy said he is hoping Sterling remains at the club.
"Liverpool is the place for him to learn for the next few years," the Anfield great said.
"I think there's a position there for him to be the number one player in the Liverpool team and really have that adulation from supporters that the likes of Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres have experienced.
"I don't want to see him go to another team and just become a squad player and just another number in the team, I think he deserves to be playing every week," Gerrard added.
