Gunners full-back Kieran Gibbs believes Arsenal needed to be patient for their win at Loftus Road.
The Gunners were 2-1 winners in west London when they played the R's.
Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez got on the scoresheet for Arsenal while Charlie Austin tried to inspire a comeback which wasn’t completed late on in the game.
After the tie, the 25-year-old defender spoke about Arsenal's display against QPR on Wednesday night.
“We know that it’s always difficult when you come to this place,” he said, as Arsenal.com reported.
“It was about keeping focused. We had a lot to deal with defensively tonight and I feel the team responded well to that.
“We just waited for our opportunity and we took it. We’ve scored lots of our goals this season early on and it’s just whether we can hold on later in games and score.
“We have to remember that we don’t have to win the game in the first half, we know we have players who can score anytime so we just have to keep a good balance in the team and wait for our opportunity.
“It’s important for many reasons because we want to finish as high as possible in the league and we want to respond for the fans and people of the club. We know we’re a good team so we want to show that week in, week out.”
