Guardiola - Laporte is training every day.

The France international needs a little bit more time to return to the Man City starting XI.

Pep Guardiola is delighted with Aymeric Laporte's return to full training but the Manchester City boss says they will have to wait on the doctors to confirm when the defender will start to get games under his belt.

Laporte has been sidelined since August when he suffered a knee injury against Brighton and Hove Albion, but the frenchman is now edging closer to first team action following a successful surgery.

"He's training every day, he feels good after training and the day after he feels good, that is good news," Guardiola said ahead of Man City's 6-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.

"I don't know when he'll be ready to play some games. He needs a little bit more time but he moves really well.

"The operation was good. We wait for the doctors to say he can start to play."
