Manchester City youngster Phil Foden won’t be going on loan during the January transfer window, says manager Pep Guardiola.
Foden has made eight appearances coming off the bench for the champions but is yet to start a Premier League game in the 2018-19 season so far.
The teenager scored his first goal at the Etihad in City’s 7-0 triumph over Rotherham United in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
However, Guardiola is convinced the 18-year-old has a great career ahead of him at City.
"No way. No, impossible," Guardiola told reporters when asked if Foden could leave on loan. "He is going to stay with us many, many years... impossible.
"Today Phil Foden was there and his movement was incredible. 90 minutes for his experience and self-confidence, but of course he must improve. He will learn in future and play better."
