Guardiola's struggles this season will put him in good stead in the future.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says his first season in the Premier League has been a learning curve for him.

The Spaniard, who won his first 10 competitive games as Citizens' coach, said as the Mirror reported: “This season has been a lesson for me.”

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss also promised to learn from a few mistakes.

“I will be better — definitely,” said the Blues boss. “It’s normal when you have seven, eight, nine years as a manager to have a season where you don’t have as much success as before. It can happen.

“You learn from that.

“I never thought I arrived here that I knew absolutely everything.

“I tried to adapt to the players as much as possible. I did and I think we will be better.”
