Harry Kane can break the Premier League goal record says Clive Allen.

There is no doubt Kane is one of the in-form strikers in the league and has scored 17 goals for Pochettino's side this season.

The 21-year-old has been in sublime form since the start of the season and has been able to force his manager to making changes upfront with Adebayor and Soldado dropping down the ranks in favour of the Englishman.

However, former Tottenham Hotspur player reckons Kane can go ahead and break the goal scoring record [260] set by Alan Shearer in the Premier League.

“I am sure you look at players from the past who do what you do and who you would like to emulate,” Allen told BBC Radio 5 live.

“So, I have no doubt Harry has got his eye on it and he is being compared to players like Alan Shearer at the moment.

“He is the best goal-scorer the Premier League has seen and his record is there to be shot at,

“Why not have a go for it Harry’, that is what I would say to him.

“I was fortunate to break the great Jimmy Greaves’ goal scoring record at Spurs, but people said that it would never be done, so sky is the limit for the young man.”
