Chelsea head-coach Maurizio Sarri says Eden Hazard is free to leave the club if he wants to but the Italian also said he would prefer the Belgian to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard, who Chelsea are looking to renew his contract that expires next season, has been constantly linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid and the Blues forward has confirmed in the past that he'll like to play for Los Blancos.

"Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go," Sarri told reporters ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash at Bournemouth.

"Of course, I hope the opposite, I hope he wants to stay here. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment."

Hazard has won the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Premier League twice during his time at Stamford Bridge but is now in the final 18 months of his current contract.
